This past June, I had the pleasure of helping to organize the Intelligent Building Operations Workshop in Boulder, CO. Chaired by Drs. Gregor Henze and Jim Braun, the workshop brought together academic and industry leaders working toward increasing the embedded intelligence in today’s buildings through improved controls, diagnostics, optimization, and machine learning. We saw amazing talks on topics ranging from grid-responsive buildings to cloud-based energy management and control to virtual sensors.
